Lip Balms Guide

A lip balm is used for protecting the lips from burning, cracking, and chapping. It is made with ingredients that moisturize and heal dry and chapped lips such as aloe, vitamin E, beeswax, peppermint oil, and jojoba. It usually has an SPF (sun protection factor) for protecting the lips from UV rays. It can be flavored, scented, or tinted.

Types of Lip Balms?

A bees wax lip balm contains real beeswax that can soothe burning, cracked, and chapped lips. It is applied to the lips using the finger or a lip balm wand. It can have aloe for moisture and peppermint oil for a cool feeling.

A medicated lip balm is ideal for those with sensitive lips and those who frequent the outdoors. It usually has an SPF rating of not less than 15, and it is available in natural flavors.

A sheer lip balm is usually SPF-rated. It has aloe and vitamin E. It provides a minimal lip color just like a lip gloss.
